Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award, 2008

Our efforts received national recognition when this center was named the recipient of an American Health Care Association (AHCA)/National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award.

The AHCA/NCAL Quality Award is modeled after criteria from the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, the nation’s premier recognition for quality achievement.

The Bronze award recognizes that the center has made a commitment to continuous quality and performance improvement. Once achieved, the designation is permanent.

Regional Executive Director of the Year, 2010

The East Region honored our Executive Director, Louise Merrick, with the Executive Director of the Year award in 2010.

Each year, Kindred recognizes an Executive Director as a recipient of the Executive Director of the Year award. The winner is chosen by the Executive Vice President and President of the Nursing Center Division based on the individual’s excellent leadership in achieving high resident and employee satisfaction, quality outcomes, and other performance measures.

The Joint Commission Accredited, 2010

Crawford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is a private, not for profit organization established in 1951 to evaluate healthcare organizations that voluntarily seek accreditation.

Reader’s Choice Award – Best Nursing Home in Fall River Area Finalist, 2010

Fall River Herald News announced Crawford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a finalist in the paper’s annual Reader’s Choice Awards. Voting ballots were submitted directly to the paper from members of the community.

Clinical Site of the Year Award, 2009

Bristol Community College’s Occupational Therapy Program named Crawford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Clinical Site of the Year in 2009.  "Celebrating mentorship and education between therapists and their students, Bristol Community College in Fall River awarded the Occupational Therapy department at Crawford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 273 Oak Grove Ave., with the first ever 'Clinical Site of the Year Award'.    After listening to years of positive feedback from students in the occupational therapy assistant program at BCC about the Crawford facility and staff, BCC decided it was time for a little recognition.  On May 25, certified occupational therapy assistants Kim Martel, Jim Theriault and Jillian Szyndlar were presented with a plaque commending them for inspiring enthusiasm, professionalism, and excellent patient care in their students.  "We are so happy as a department to receive this award because it is always a team effort to help our students grow." said Martel."

A Fortune Magazine Most Admired Company, 2009, 2010 and 2011
Kindred Healthcare, our center’s parent company, has been a Fortune magazine Most Admired Healthcare Company for the last three years.  The Most Admired list is the definitive report card on corporate reputations.  Fortune magazine ranks companies within industries, based on nine different “attributes of reputation.”  To create the industry rankings, surveys were sent to over 4,000 executives, directors, and analysts to select the 10 companies they admired most.
